Do I need a prescription from my doctor?
In the State of New York, you are allowed to receive physical therapy treatment for 10 visits or 30 days, whichever comes first, before needing a written prescription. At that point, you may continue therapy with a written referral from a licensed practitioner including a doctor, a dentist, a podiatrist or a nurse practitioner.
What is the cost of treatment?
Treatment sessions are $140 per hour in our Brewster office and $150 per hour in our Chappaqua office; the cost is the same for evaluation and treatment.
Does my insurance cover treatment?
HSPT does not participate in any insurance plans, however you may submit for reimbursement from your insurance if you have out of network coverage. Most of our patients receive some reimbursement from their insurance, but it depends on the type of plan you have. Our administrative staff will work with you to provide the necessary documentation for you to submit to your insurance to receive maximum reimbursement. We recommend our patients contact their insurance company to determine if they are covered.
