How Does IMT Work?
Integrative Manual Therapy is a comprehensive treatment approach that views all of the body’s structures and systems in an interrelated manner, addressing anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and energetics to facilitate the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Through manual diagnostics, the practitioner perceives the body’s subtle rhythms and interprets these signals to identify the cause of the pain, disease or disability. The practitioner gives the body the opportunity to heal through the facilitation of corrective responses elicited by interacting with these subtle energies and reflexes in the body. Among the breadth of techniques used, IMT encompasses very gentle forms of deep tissue work, myofascial release, cranial therapy, joint mobilization, lymphatic drainage and positional release, as well as guided imagery, deep relaxation, biofeedback, applied psychosynthesis, detoxification, energetic healing and functional recovery.
